Eye Injuries

Some quick tips and reminders!

1. If there is every a suspicion that an employee may have flash burn NEVER swab the eye you can cause further damage, for treatment you can only provide eye drops to the employee and encourage them not to touch or scratch their eyes until they have healed.
2. When using a black light to visualize any foreign bodies or abrasions to the eye, never shine the black light directly in the eye, always shine from the side as to not further damage the employees eye.
3. Proparacaine needs to be stored in a fridge or the technicians cooler in their vehicle. Always be sure to check the expiration date before application.
